Loved this.  

I don’t think it’s so much that women in the days of yore did their hair everyday. They did it more elaborately and meticulously, then lacquered the living daylights out of it once a week or so, and slept with pins or a floofy cap, on satin pillowcases, sometimes with wadded tissues stuffed into the curls.
